November 28th is a very special day...

As the title indicates, November 28th is a VERY special day in the Peck family. No, it's not just the day ABF was born (happy almost birthday ABF!), it also happens to be the date of my and Marcie's second first date...the one on which we fell head over heals in love and our REAL relationship began. That was 1998...now, 10 years later, we are set to take the next step on our adoption journey. As part of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services approval process, we have to have fingerprints taken...and we got our notice in the mail yesterday...report for "biometrics" at the Nashville USCIS office on: (insert drum roll here) November 28, 2008. :) What a way to spend the 10 year anniversary of our relational roots! God is so awesome! His schedule and timing are always perfect, but the little breadcrumbs He leaves along the way (or Godicidences as I have heard them referred to) make it all the more overwhelming. So, while we will be sans leftovers for the first half of leftovers day, we will be crossing off another item on the journey to China to-do-list. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, let us again say how thankful we are for your love and support...nothin' beats family! And to the member we have yet to meet...we're one step closer baby girl. :)

The gifts keep coming....

First the United Tour and Cinderella t-shirts...now homemade soup! That really is almost too much to comprehend in one day. It really must be getting close to Christmas :) . I'm not sure this can be topped very easily, but today has been another day full of God's blessings...and there's even a little bit of it leftover in the fridge. Sorry you had to miss dinner KeeKee and CaCa (snicker under my breath), but a little birdie told me you all would partake tomorrow night...I'll try my best not to rearrange my schedule so I can be there (snicker under my breath again).

Trevor decided sleeping in a fort is pretty cool...especially forts constructed by daddy...so at this late hour he is watching Power Rangers from deep inside his secret hideout. I better go and get him settled down for the night so he won't be grouchy tomorrow...big day since he gets to go celebrate cousin Trey's birthday. May God richly Bless each of you!

Early Christmas Presents.....

It started like most other weekends....or not. Trevor had a little friend sleepover, and after they finally passed out around &$#@ o'clock (in case his parents see this), little T decided around 3 a.m. he wasn't sure about sleeping downstairs anymore. So daddy went back downstairs with him, crawled in the most awesome, rockin' fort you ever saw, and slept in five minute intervals until both boys awoke around 6. Then we worked our way through sharing computer time, games, including/excluding Brandon with playtime, etc. After the visit ended, we went to Hoopers and chased T & B around the crowded store for 30 minutes and decided it was "quiet time" back home. "Get the mail" Marcie hollered as we pulled up to the house...so I opened the mailbox and heard the song "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..." in my head. :) Lo and behold...some early Christmas presents!!! What a wonderful surprise and perfect way to start the afternoon nap period. Thanks K1...you rock...which in my new tech savvy, thumb-texting way, I learned is \m/ >.< \m/ If you don't follow, let me know and I can explain a little slower. Love to all...and a special hug to our special little angel. The only consolation to not being at one of the concerts was being able to pray for those that were. God Bless!

And finally....

Here is update #3.

Onward and Upward....

Here is update #2.

Patience please.....

As I attempt to construct the blog and add various components, you may see things come and go, so please bear with me as I get my proverbial feet wet. And if links don't work or posts look funny, just leave a comment and go on. Here is update #1 from back in August.

The times they are a changin'...

Hi everybody! Hope this finds you in good health...both mentally and physically. The 4811 Stanley Pecks are feeling all better these days, save for a lack of sleep the last few nights due to some nighttime shenanigans by one of our family members. :) Our guess is he simply wants us to stay in parenting shape. Anyway, welcome to our first attempt at a blog...still not sure where the name "blog" comes from or exactly how the name fits with the process, but we're learning a lot about new technology these days. Prior to turning 40, I made fun of people that carried around cell phones that text, email, surf and tell you what you will be doing from the next 5 minutes to the next 12 months...people that post their thoughts, opinions, photos and videos for the world to see...and people that "blog". Some guys buy red convertible sports cars when they turn 40...I bought a cell phone that does everything except tell me when to go to the bathroom, joined facebook and set up a blog. Sheesh...hello 21st century, we're the Pecks. :) That's all for now...nothing earth shattering to proclaim. We'll post another update on our adoption paperwork soon...and I hope to discover how to post those images or links to the blog...more technology to learn...oh the humanity! God Bless you all!
